Navratri is the nine day long festival during which devotees worship Goddess Durga who is the Supreme form of the Divine. Navratri brings an unparalleled joy & enthusiasm among the devotees of 'Devi' (Feminine form of the Almighty) and all Devi temples witness celebrations for nine consecutive days and nights! This year the Chaitra Navratri or Vasant Navratri will be celebrated from 25th March to 2nd April 2020.

Chaitra Navratri begins on the 'Pratipada Tithi' (first date) of the 'Shukla Paksha' (Waxing phase of the Moon) in the month of Chaitra as per the Hindu Lunar Calendar. Each day of the total nine days of Navratri is associated with a particular form of Goddess Durga and interestingly each day has a specific colour associated with it as well. Day 1

This day is represented by Maa Shailputri. She is a form of Goddess 'Adi Shakti' who incarnated as the daughter of King Himalaya & Queen Maina. The colour associated with this day is grey. It signifies determination and strong will to pursue divine goals in life.


Day 2

This day is represented by Maa Brahmacharini. She is known for the highest form of penance or 'Tapasya'. The colour associated with this day is Orange. It signifies a pure & strong aura.


Day 3

This day is represented by Maa Chandraghanta. She is the married form of Goddess Parvati and blesses Her devotees with peace & prosperity. The colour associated with this day is White. It brings peace and contentment in life.


Day 4

This day is represented by Maa Kushmanda. She is the form of Goddess Almighty who created the cosmos with Her smile and dwells in the core of Sun, giving direction and strength to Sun. The colour associated with this day is Red. It signifies power, vitality and a strong personality.


Day 5

This day is represented by Maa Skandamata. She is the mother of Lord Kartikeya and bestows Her auspicious blessings on Her devotees bringing bliss & happiness in their lives. The colour associated with this day is Sky Blue. It signifies abundance, prosperity and boundless bliss.

This day is represented by Maa Katyayani. She is the form of Goddess Durga who killed Demon brothers- Shumbha & Nishumbh. The colour associated with this day is Pink. It signifies purity and removal of all sins.


Day 7

This day is represented by Maa Kaalratri. She is the most fiercest form of Goddess Durga and destroys all evil and ignorance in Her devotees.
