In these 10 days, Lord Ganesha is established, and worship is organized. This year, Ganesh Utsav or Ganesh Chaturthi is starting from Wednesday, 27 August 2025. On this day, the idol of Lord Ganesha will be installed in places like temples, homes, and puja pandals etc., and after 10 days, Bappa will bid farewell with love.

Ganesh Chaturthi 2025 – Katha (Story)

Long ago, Goddess Parvati created Lord Ganesha from sandalwood paste while bathing. She assigned him the duty of guarding her door. When Lord Shiva returned, Ganesha stopped him, not knowing who he was. Angered, Shiva severed Ganesha’s head.

Seeing this, Parvati was grief-stricken and demanded that her son be restored. To pacify her, Shiva ordered his ganas (followers) to bring the head of the first creature they found. They brought the head of a baby elephant, which Shiva placed on Ganesha’s body and brought him back to life.
